A considered update for your kitchen
Living at Home During Cabinet Refacing Near Worcester
Compare published refacing schedules, separate fabrication from installation, and plan kitchen access, dust control and cleanup with a written checklist.
Plan the disruption
Project duration does not tell you when you can use the kitchen.
Remaining at home may be possible, but neither a short installation estimate nor off-site fabrication guarantees access to your sink, stove or refrigerator. Ask for a day-by-day access plan that reflects the work and finish system selected for your home.
Two published schedules, with different boundaries
| Primary source | Published schedule | Boundary to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Seven Pines, Shrewsbury | Lists two to four weeks for fabrication, then two to three on-site days for a small kitchen or three to five for an average kitchen. Refacing process and timing ↗ | These are the company's planning ranges, not a Worcester market average or a kitchen-access promise. |
| Spectrum WallCo, serving Leominster and Shrewsbury | Its FAQ gives roughly two weeks for refacing, depending on scope. Company project FAQ ↗ | The answer does not divide every day into shop work, installation and appliance access. Request that breakdown. |
Do not compare these figures as equivalent quotes. They describe different project boundaries and have not been independently timed by Avantia.
Get these arrangements in writing.
- Kitchen access each dayWhen can you use the sink and appliances? Who disconnects or reconnects anything affected by the work? Agree on a temporary food-preparation area.
- Work locationsWhich pieces leave the house, and which surfaces are sanded, cut, coated or sprayed inside? Ask where materials will be stored.
- Dust and work-area protectionAsk how the work area is separated, how dust is collected and what access restrictions apply. Have the contractor explain any precautions specific to your existing finish and home.
- Cleanup and wasteSpecify daily cleanup, protection of floors and counters, disposal of old fronts, and who performs the final clean before you put belongings back.
- Return to normal useRequest the selected product's written curing, ventilation and cleaning instructions. Confirm when children, pets and occupants can safely use the work area.
- Schedule changesAsk how backorders or damaged boxes affect the sequence, who notifies you and how extra work is approved.
What remains unknown
The reviewed pages do not establish a complete dust-control protocol or daily appliance-access schedule for your home. Ask the contractor for those details. We have not measured emissions, inspected containment or verified that any particular household can remain during the work.
