Cabinet Doors Only or Full Refacing Near Worcester?
Compare a fronts-and-hardware refresh with refacing that covers visible cabinet box surfaces. Use a local provider's published scope and a component checklist before requesting quotes.
Compare the work before the price
Keeping the boxes does not tell you which surfaces are included.
Both fronts-only work and broader refacing can retain the cabinet boxes. The difference is whether the quote also covers visible frames, exposed ends and other exterior surfaces. A low price for doors and hardware should not be compared with a proposal that includes those additional surfaces as though the work were identical.
Published provider examples of the distinction
Seven Pines Home Improvement in Shrewsbury describes "hybrid refacing" as new doors, drawer fronts and hardware without full box skinning. It presents that option for existing box faces that already match the new fronts closely. Its broader refacing description covers face frames and end panels as well.

Homestead has a dedicated door-replacement page that separates new doors and drawer fronts from refacing that also treats visible box surfaces. Its soft-close upgrade is a separate option, so confirm which hinges and handles a particular quote includes. Its separate Worcester service page also discusses replacement doors when only a few are damaged.

These are provider descriptions reviewed October 30, 2026. We have not confirmed acceptance of your address, existing material or quantities. A company listing cabinet refacing generally does not establish that it offers every reduced-scope variant.
Ask each bidder to mark these components.
| Component | Fronts-only proposal | Broader refacing proposal |
|---|---|---|
| Existing cabinet boxes | Which boxes stay? What condition assessment is included? | Which boxes stay? What repairs are included before covering? |
| Doors and drawer fronts | Record quantities, core, finish, style and dimensions. | Use the same quantities and specifications for comparison. |
| Visible face frames and end panels | State explicitly whether they remain as they are, are refinished, or are covered. | Identify the new covering or finish and the surfaces included. |
| Fillers, toe kicks, edges and trim | Identify pieces left unchanged and likely visible differences. | Identify treatment of each exposed piece and edge. |
| Hinges, handles and drawers | Separate reused hardware from new hardware and new drawer boxes. | Use the same hardware tier, or itemize the difference. |
| Sample approval and warranty | Check how old surfaces look beside new fronts, and what the written warranty covers. | Approve the coordinated surface sample and confirm product and workmanship coverage. |
This is a comparison worksheet, not a universal definition of either service or a promise that a contractor includes these items.
Make the first enquiry specific.
Provide your town, door and drawer-front counts, existing cabinet material, exposed end panels and any visible damage. Say whether you want existing box faces left unchanged or covered. Request a written response about accepted scope, matching samples, repairs, hardware and exclusions.
Inspect damaged boxes before selecting a cosmetic scope. Compare painting, refacing and replacement, then use the quote checklist and published price evidence. Availability and the final price remain unknown until a provider assesses your project.
